Kenedy County Volksmarched 03/22/2014

The Seasonal Event (Jan-Jun) in San Diego gave us the opportunity to pick up another new county.  For a county seat, this town is really small.  It doesn’t even have one convenience store.  No place to buy gas or a loaf of bread.  It was just hard to imagine.  The walk started at the county courthouse.DSCF7521

It wandered through the community.  There were a lot of empty lots some with flowers and some with horses tied out, an old Lumber Yard, and some loose Guinea Hens.  These hens were unusual because most Guineas that I have seen were speckled black and grey.

We came to a nice church.  This is the front and side entrances.

DSCF7530The country road had little traffic and lots of wildflowers.  We also spotted a cottontail.

DSCF7541I think the jail is on the right of the columns.  There are bars on the windows.  It was an interesting walk.
